Welcome to Going Deeper: The Therapeutic Book Club

As the fall equinox approaches—a season of balance, release, and shifting into a slower rhythm—we’ll gather in community to read Francis Weller’s newest book, In the Absence of the Ordinary: Soul Work for Times of Uncertainty. His essays invite us to honor grief and change as sacred transitions, reminding us that endings and beginnings are always woven together.

Over four weeks, we’ll meet in an intimate circle to explore how Weller’s wisdom resonates in our own lives. Each session will open with a grounding practice, unfold into thoughtful conversation, and close with reflection to carry into the season ahead.

Featuring In the Absence of the Ordinary by Francis Weller

This isn’t just about reading—it’s about reflecting, feeling, and being witnessed.

Each week you’ll:

  • Read a short section (about 50 pages).

  • Arrive to a grounding meditation that settles you into the moment.

  • Join in conversation guided by prompts that help you connect the text to your own life.

  • Leave with a renewed sense of insight, compassion, and connection.

This book club is for you if…

  • You long for a community where grief and change can be spoken of openly.

  • You’re navigating a transition and want to make sense of it alongside others who understand.

  • You crave dialogue that goes deeper than the everyday.

  • You want intentional time set aside for reflection and integration.

This group will be a respectful and thoughtful container, one where all voices are welcome and no insight is too small. Whether our perspectives align or differ, we come together with curiosity and care, trusting that shared reflection can lead us deeper into our own truths.
