The Grief Gather

Monthly Grief Ritual

Most of us were never taught how to grieve.
How to hold tenderly the deepest parts of ourselves.
How to stay with sorrow, and the mystery it carries, without rushing to fix or control.

Grief rituals create a pause in the ordinary rhythms of life. A space where what lives inside us can be honored instead of hidden. Here, sorrow and love, loss and longing, can be witnessed in community; because we were never met to grieve alone.

Each month, we gather to honor the many shapes of grief — the loss of loved ones, relationships, identities, dreams, and seasons of life. Through simple practices of storytelling, journaling, guided reflection, and symbolic offering, we create a sacred container where grief can be expressed, witnessed, and held with care.

This is not therapy, though it can be deeply therapeutic. It isn’t about fixing, but about being reminded we don’t have to carry grief on our own. When shared, grief loosens its hold and begins to move.

You are welcome here if:

âœº You are grieving the death of someone you love.

âœº You are navigating endings — of relationships, roles, or chapters of life.

âœº You feel the collective grief in our culture and our world.

âœº You long for a place where sorrow, tenderness, and connection are honored.

Important note: these rituals are not rooted in any specific religious, cultural, or Indigenous traditions. They are shaped from modern ceremonial practices that honor our shared human need for reverence, connection, and meaning — without borrowing from or appropriating sacred traditions that are not ours to hold. I come to this work mindful of my own ancestors, those who grieved, remembered, and created meaning in their time. These rituals continue that human thread while remaining respectful of traditions that do not belong to me.
